Tango holiday at La Rogaia, Umbria , Italy
5 – 12 May 2012

“What is so special about La Rogaia is its familiar atmosphere where the teachers and students stay for a chat on the terrace after the lessons, grab a guitar after dinner or play the piano.” (A Story about a Tango week)

The place:
Villa La Rogaia, a romantic country house with a large garden, terraces, and a swimming pool, is situated in the hills above Lake Trasimeno, surrounded by olive groves, woods and pastureland. The dance studio is a large converted stable with a marble floor opening onto the patio where we eat. Accommodation is in attractive, comfortable double or single rooms (a shared bathroom for two bedrooms) or in holiday apartments for two persons.

Our hosts Annette and Wolfgang have been organising high quality tango vacations at their country house for more than 12 years, with the emphasis on providing an unforgettable holiday in a beautiful, restful setting.

When you're not dancing you are perfectly situated to explore the historical towns of Arezzo, Assisi, Siena and Perugia, or to take a swim in the private swimming pool, or go mountain biking, horse riding or enjoy a relaxing massage. Childcare is available this week and the gardens around the villa are a safe paradise for children to play and explore.

The workshops:
In this week we will help you to improve your quality of movement and expression, to deepen your connection with your partner and the music, and to increase your pleasure in this beautiful dance.

For the morning workshops we will focus on the fundamentals of dancing together: body awareness, balance, grounding, posture, the embrace, and the ‘how’ of creating elegant and fluid movements without stiffness or tension. During the evening workshops we plan to focus on one genre - milonga - building up each evening from the absolute basics to traspié combinations in an effective, self-contained course.
