A tango vacation is your chance to immerse yourself in dancing for a week. Learning movement becomes easier as you relax and let go. Eat well, laugh, recharge your batteries, enjoy a wonderful landscape and make new friends at the same time. We particularly enjoy this type of concentrated, intimate teaching with a small group because we see your dancing developing each day before our eyes.
This year we're happy to be able to offer two tango vacations: from 5 to 12 May 2012 at Villa La Rogaia in Italy, and from 15 to 21 July 2012 at Ferme Les Costes in France. Click on the photos at the right for more information.
Our combined tango lives amount to more than 25 years of dancing, teaching and DJ-ing. Our teaching together starts from body awareness, balance, connection with your dance partner and with the music. We both firmly believe that the more you can relax and enjoy your dancing the better it gets. We're known for our gentle, humourous, patient approach and we love to help you to develop your dancing in a relaxing, supportive environment.
We are most at home with salon tango danced in a close embrace with a strong focus on musicality.
Siobhan's dancing is intense, graceful, with playful footwork. In her teaching she emphasises quality of movement, musicality, a listening and responsive connection between leader and follower, and sound technique as the basis for improvisation. The follower's 'voice' and activity is always an important topic, and she seeks to balance input and instruction for the leaders and followers in her lessons.
Michael emphasises dancing as a joyful and natural activity. The beginning is awareness: of the body, of one's partner, and of the music. The dance then emerges organically as the response of the couple to each other and the music, structured only by the desire of the couple to remain in deep contact with one another. He is especially known for his knowledge of tango music, his understanding of the special flavour of milonga, and his ability to simplify complex ideas and movements.
The vacations are designed for intermediate dancers who want to boost their dancing experience and skills. Talk to us if you have questions about your dance experience – we will do our best to accommodate you.
